' A good deal of discussion resulted from a question , from tho AVest- Coast Football Union as to whether the grants from tho -Now Zealand Union ,were for football in which secondary schools, as well as primary schools, t-ook part. This matter was discussed at tho, annual meeting of tho Now Zealand Itugby Union, when a resolution was passed' that tho grants be for tho 'encouragement of football in primary schools. Iho opinion was expressed. last night that n° , ' OIIS -receiving grants should bo allowed a certain amount of discretion, as, it might bo advantageous in somo cases to permit secondary scholars to participate. It wa3 resolved that tho West .Coast Union bo informed that secondary scholars wero not eligiblo in tho terms of tho, resolution. The question of the number of . Test matchcs with the English team was discussed in committee. A decision was arrived at to adiiere to tho original intention, and play only the one Test game. It was considered that three -Tests-would bo impracticable.
