AN EARLY START. MR. J. M. JOHNSTON'S VALUABLE SERVICES. ■ The decision to establish the dairy school at Pajmorstbn North was referred to at a mooting of the Manawatu A. and P. Association yesterday (says our correspondent), when it was resolved " That the Minister of Agriculture bs written-to, expressing satisfaction that the dairy school is to be"erected in Palmerston. North, and stating that the Association will bo pleased to facilitate the movement." A hearty.voto of thanks was also accorded to Mr. W. T. AVood, M.P. . Mr. Wood-stated, that the Minister had informed him that the Government were ready to proceed with the erection. of the school almost immediately. Tho spaco it would occupy would be about SO by 100 feet. At a meeting of tho'Manawatu A. and P. Association yesterday Mr. Jacob moved "That Mr. J. M: Johnston bo asked to represent this association at the Royal AgriCultural Show of New South Waies,' and that tho sum of £2.1 be voted liini for. travelling expenses. . That the committee desire -to tako this opportunity of placing, on record their grateful , of. Mr. Johnston's valuable services to tho a-ssocia-tion during tho past thirteen years, arid more particularly of his efforts to secure, the dairy school in Palinerstori, which efforts are about to be crowned with success." Mr.: Jacob, in support of his' motion, spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr. Johnstoh' arid- his valuable services to the district.
