TETONE CLUB'S ANNUAL- REPORT,

Tho secretary of .the Potone Football Club, , in his annual report, to. be presented at the ' meeting nest week, congratulates, the-mem-bers 011 the brilliant record achieved by the club/luring the past season. The five, avail- ' able championships in. the Wellington district were all secured, this -constituting .a record in New Zealand club Rugby football. At the last annual-meeting it'was decided to appoint a'-coach for each' of the three lower grade teams, whose success-in a great moasure was due to tho way in which-Messrs. J. Prico, F. Swindell, and J. Lynskey locked after their .respective t-cams. The'seniors' win was all tlie more pleasing' as they defeated a strong team like'Poneke, in the final match, without ;tho services of such players as Cross, IT. -Wright,, C. Byrne, and C. Tyne. The committee also desire to congratulate the' following members on-gaining ! representative honours:—Senior grade, E. and J. E.yan, J. Barber, A. Rcitl, C. Green, W. Ready, H. - Knight,; P.- M'Gill, H. Wright, T. Cross. Junior grade' .E. W. Smythe,-G;;Fogdqn, J. Cairns, and C. Fisher. During the Easter holidays a team-journeyed to the Wairarapa and defeated'teams from the Carterton Rovers by 0 points to nil/'and : Mastert'on 'Albion's by' 32 points\to nil. ATHLETIC FOOTBALL. CLUB, Members . of the ' Athletic' Football \ Club were present'in strong force it the aSmual meeting last evening. ' president' (Mr.' G. ■F. C. Campbell)-ocoupicd the chailv .The'.committee,..in,its thirtieth annual report, r the season the'club •took part in sixty-nine matches. .. The senior team started tho'season well and steadily improved in their play, till in the : match versus Petone the'game. (a; draw, 1 5 points 'each) was one of the most brilliant expositions 'of football witnessed on the local ground during 'the year. After playing thirteen matches, seven of which were won, four drawn, and two lost, the team finished up a most satisfactory sea- : son by getting third place in the championship., The junior team had-a fairly successful season. In, the third grade: competition', although,.-the team was composed of many promising players, they - did not do as well ,as was expected; The fourth-class team continued to uphold the cliib's'; recqrd for good football, although the points-scored wero not as high as in previous years. The fifth-class boys put up a very stubborn fight. The travelling this 'team had to do was a great drawback; and' the 'committee. recommended the club's 'delegates to endeavour to have all these matches played in town.- As in formor years outside:matches were played—one at Christchurch, two at Blenheim, ' and' two .homo. Tho report included a table summarising tlio results of the season's matches, and showing the following totals for all teams:— Mat-chos played, 69; won,. 38,' drawn, 8; : lost', 23; points for, SSB; against, 333. The'club was represented in tho senior representative team by Messrs. F. Baker, W. Bell, A. Evensen, N. Gordon, ■ E. • Osborn, M. O'Sullivan, and A. Wilson. The last-named player-also represented the North".lsland in the InterIsland match. Messrs. C.' Murphy and .S. Wilson 'represented tho club "in the junior toam. The trophy offered for competition in tho sonior team by Mr. G. Robertson (vicepresident) was awarded to A. Wilson. Mr. O; Ponman's trophy .was allotted to.C. Finlay-' son, of the fourth-class team, for his'success in goal kicking. Thanks are extended .to Messrs. G. F. C. Campbell and J. H.
