Auckland, March 4. , Amongst the cadets 'at present in camp at Papakura aro a number of clever rifle shots, ono of the best being Colour-Sergeant William Friar, of tho Onehiinga High Sciiooi. An invitation has been issued by Lord Roberts to cadet rifle shots from every part of tho Empiro' to. journoy homo to England, and spend a month as his guests, during which timo they will shoot oft' for the Lady Gwcindolinc Guinness trophy. Colonel Loveday has singled Colour-Sergeant Friar out as the best boy shot in New Zealand, arid upon tho Defence'. Department sanctioning his .selection, Friar will be sent 'Homo. The cadet to recoive this honour lias twico been a member of tho Onehunga team which has carried oil tho Railfurly Shield in the North Island, and has also won the cadet championship medal of the North Island, besides numerous trophies presented by the officer commanding the Onohunga Corps, Major Robh.
