At his meeting at Russell to-night tho • Prime Minister was presented with an address of wolcomo to tho district, signed by many of the leading northern Maori chiefs. Sir Joseph Ward expressed his best wishes for tho future prosperity and happiness of the race, coupled with tho liopctliat they would assist the Department in every way possible in its efforts to socuro sanitavy : homes and healthy conditions for' tho Natives. In his address, the Primo Minister doalt, with the advisability of establishing a wireless telegraph system in the' Dominion, to'include communication • with tho Islands in the Pacific connected with Now Zealand. A voto of thanks and confidenco was- carried. Tho party leaves for Mangonui in the morning, and this will bo tho furthest, north visited.
