Deputations, dealing with the North Auckland Railway, Grahamstown to Kawakawii railway--.cxtciisioiv. and matters of local interest were received at 10 a.m; In the afternoon the Premier laid, the foundation stone, of a new Presbvterian Church. Referring to tho Prime Minister's present northern tour, the "Herald" aay-s.—"We trust that while admiring the country Sir Joseph Ward will endeavour to picture to. himself what its communications are/like in: the rainy months, and will at least; succeed in understanding that in this matter, the North of Auckland has a very real-grievance, which affects not only the. comfort of .its, settlers,., but its.: productive power to a very serious extent."
