WEDNESDAY MATCHES. . The third round in the Senior Grade Wednesday. championship' matches was commenced on. the Basin. Reserve' yesterday in rather windy weather. \A number of junior matches wero also continued, both on the Basin Reserve and at the Athletic Park. UNION v. ORIENTAL.. When Oriental met the Union men in the second round of tho championship they gained a' two-point victory, yesterday, playing two men short, they were all put out for 103 in the first innings. Little (45, not out) played sound cricket, his innings being tho best of tho day. His score included a G, a 5, a 4, and thrco 3's. Of tho remainder, M'Kenzie contributed 14, and Laurenson a rather fluky 12. " Weybourno was the best of tho Union bowlers, taking thrco wickets in five overs, which yielded 14 runs. Union in their first innings compiled 137. J. O'Sullivan was topscorer with d 0 to his credit. Little bowled well' for Oriental, taking five wickets for 50 runs.
