Vardon (Liberal) is well ahead of Mr. O'Loghlin (Labour), and is practically sure to win the Beat. Mr. Yardon was elected, and the election was subsequently upset on the pround. of alleged irregularities, one of which was ; that certain . voting papers ' were missing. The Senate appointed Mr O'Loghlin, Mr Vardon's opponent, to tho seat. Mr Vardon moved to upset tho Senate's ■ action. The missing voting papers in the meanwhile turned- up. Mr Vardon's action was successful; and a fresh election was ordered to be held.! ' 1 ' -3 '
