ACTION OF THE BOROUDH COUNCIL. . MATTER TO BE FIXED UP.' ■ The project of tho Wellington Gas Company, Ltd., to erect a largo gasholder and other plant -at Miramar was advanced a stage at last fight's meeting, of 'the Miramar Borough Council... The Prime Minister wrote thaf he had' received an application from the Gas 1 Company for permission to erect works'- at Miramar.. He wished to know if the. Borough Council had any t to make on the subject; V ' : : ' . The Mayor (Mr. C. J.' Crawford) said ha had replied; asking the Premier to withhold permission until he had obtained further particulars: from, the Company aud consulted the Council. . ' , 1 The secretary of the Wellington Gas Company, Ltd., forwarded an application l (with plans) for' permission to .erect' a gasholder, : tool shed, and other conveniences on the Company's land at, King's Road, and to lay a connecting main from the site to the Wellington city boundary. The secretary stated that it was essential that permission'to lay the connecting main should be part of the application, as the- Company would not incur heavy expehditure and proceed with the erection of the new holder, shortly :to 'SrriVe.Vin Wellington, - without being assured, that it.,.could. legally, ; upon completion, be Jinked .with tha city mains. Tho Maydr (Mr. C. J. Crawford) suggested that permission bo f*iveri: subject'to the Company' giving a satisfactory undertaking to lay main 'ih -accordance' with' the" l reasonable Requirements of •the' Borough' Engineer. !
