OTAKI NOTES.
A meeting was called for last night for the purpose of considering tho advisability of forming a bowling club in Otaki, but, owing to tho paucity of altcndaneo owing to counter attractions, tho meeting was postponed till next Friday night. Tho project gives promiso of being successfully carried through. The MacCallum family of entertainers appeared here to a large audienco last night, and placcd before tho footlights a good progrnmmo of vocal and instrumental music. During tho year sixtr-nino births wero registered here, 25 deaths, and 1" marriages, ns against 07, 21, and 25 respectively tho previous year. Mr. Leu Freeman, manager of tho W. and M. Railway diiiiiig-cnr, and • wpll known locally, leaves on a trip to England by tho .Sthenic on Thursday.
