(BY TELEGRAM—TOESS ASSOCIATION.) Nelson, January 27. Mr. J. K. Burford, a ivnll-kivnni local shipowner, died yesterday, aged G5. The many friends of .Jlr. W. B: Gasqu'oine (second son of Mr. W. C. Gasquoino, of the £9ato Coal Department) will regret to learn of his death, which took place at an early hour this morning. He had been ill since the end' of December. Deceased, who was only 18 years of age, had a promising career before him. He was educated' at St. Patrick's College, and was subsequently in the employ, of the Union Steam Ship Company., He,was a member of the College Rifle Corps. ■,
