TASMANIAN POTATOES.

A very fine sample of potatoes has been submitted to tis for inspection. They are of tlio (Jp-to-Date variotv, and wore grown at Karaka Bay bj l Mr. Doughty, from "seed" imported by Messrs. Laary and Co. from Tasmania. Thoy are a striking proof of what can be done on Karaka Bay soil with good Tasmanian seed. But then, Up-to-Dato is always n good variety under fair conditions. In a season like tho present, when, in spite of the absence of blight, light yields are likely to prevail, a crop of tubers like tboso under notice must be very acceptable.
