YEARING CHAMPIONS.

An interesting question has been , under the consideration of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association (says our Auckland correspondent) as to whether a yearling "animal should be' allowed to compote for a championship award against o{?ed beasts. Some agriculturists hold that a young animal has every right to. compete, ■and say it is all the more honour to it if it takes the award. Otliers hold -that as it frequently happens that, a yearling of great promise turns 'out of no account at maturity the principle of allowing a yearling to competo is wrong. -The Association is now going to seek information as to the. practice prevailing in England.
