Football in • high summer, seems a straftge proposition, but it was the men's own desire to continue a tournament, according to "Associatioh" rules, that has been in progress at other ports.' A cool breeso somewhat tempered the heat of the son, and the match was played. with .plenty of Vim. Although' the teams were well matched, the men of tho Powerful won by 6 coals to nil. The conduct of the players i: wi)n ' exemplary, there being no unseemly ."crowing" o?er the result. Mr. Kane, of H.M.S. Pyramuj, had charge of the whistle.
