Ihi : , Rev. J. 1). Russell preached in the morning, and Mr. James Moore in the evening. , r There was-a large attendance at the' Missions to Seamen Institute on. Friday mght, when Miss Colpus. pTovided: an enjoyable concert. The Missioner (Mr. Jas. Moore) oocupied tho chair. A conundrum competition ; was ..held, and won by sailors from- ships in port. During tho evening tho Missioner spoke in reference to the drink question, and as a result several men took the pledge of.-total abstinence. Tho following contributed ltomS to tho programme:—Mrs. Lewis, Misses E. Simmons, Lester, Colpus, M. Cunningham, .Messrs.. U Colnus. Bovd, Dawton, Thawloy, Fitzsimmonj (11.M.5. Prometheus), and Turner (Arahura). Misses Endicott. and. Cunningham and Mr. Gardiner acted as accompanists. The herformers wore nccordod ft hearty vote of thanks. Mr. James Moore announces a full pro. gramme foi this week at the Missions to • Seamen. To-night and Thursday will bo "home circle nights," with music. There will be a social evening to-morrow, with a .halfhour service, when the missioner will give , a "straight talk" on "Costly Things. Oil Wednesday will be the official concert of the Mavor and Mayoress at 8 p.m., with music by Mis's M'lntvro. On Friday night Mr. Carolano and partv will give a concert. There will bo football and cricket matches on Saturday, and the lustitute will' be open daily.
