A cricket match between .AYauganui and Manawatu, was . played yesterday, and resulted in a .win for AYanganui by 81 runs on t'no first innings. AYanganui scored 175 (IT. IS. Cavo 39, L. I'. Cave 51) against 94 by the visitors. , ' - • WAIIIARAPA v. WEST COAST. Masterton, January '23. The Waifarapa cricket team defeated the. West Const -to-day by ,an. innings and 9 rims. AYairarapa made 107 (llawson 35, Moss 32, AVaters 29, Mackcllar 20). AVcst Coast mado 36 (Moss took four wickets for 7 runs and Logan six for 22) and 122 (Cargill 41, Broad "21). • i The Union Cricket Club played a local team at Levin on Anniversary Day, and secured a win by ten wickets. , Levin, in the lirst innings, made 107, Collyns 28, .Broughton 2(j, Bevan 19, and Gardiner 11, being the principal scorers. Union replied with ICG runs — Bruce '15, 51 ills 28, and 'J'assie 13, not out. For Levin, the most successful bowlers were Bevan, seven for 25, and Howe, two for 20. Kor Union, the wickets were secured by iM'Kenzic, three lor 8, Atkinson, one for 1, Jackson-Barry, two for 10, Bruce, one foi 11, Mills, two for 27, Patterson, one for 18. In their second attempt, Levin, batting two men short, were disposed of by Atkinson i and M'Kensiie for 18 runs. Bruce, 18, and Tassin knocked off the required runs for Union.
