The Adjutant has been transferred to Blenheim, but.at the present time lie is hot at all well, and it is uncertain when lie will leavo hero for that place. Adjutant Dawkins from Napier is to arrive on Thursday to tako charge of the Feilding corps. 1 . Very, large numbers'of peoplo continue to travel by tho railway trams. A meeting of tho No-License League was held in tho Grey Street hall on Monday cveniug to meet and hear Mr. lsitt. Thcro was a good attendance, and tlip position of tho movement was discussed. There is no fear of shortage of. water in Feilding as tho reservoir is overflowing. • Mr. F. litklaris, an old member, has been appointed conductor of tho Feilding band. Mr. Charles Carr has offered the use of his artificial lake for a swimming carnival as a means of. raising funds to subsidise tho £50 which fhe Borough Council has voted for tho work of' forming tho South Street reserve into a cricket ground. Tho cricketers met last night, and Mr. Carr's offer was accepted and a Feilding swimming dull was formed with the following officers President, Mr. F. V. Lcthbridge, M.P.; vice-presidents, Messrs. Charles Carr, F. Pirani, G. Bartholomew, J. W. Bramwoll, John Cobbo, W. A. Sandilauds, E. Goodbehere,' D. M. Montgomery, F; F. Haggctt, and W. T. Hook; judges, Messrs. L. E. Jackson, John Cobbe, (.'. C. Wheeler, and tho Rev. \\\: F. Stent; secretary, Mr. A. F. JJadficld. It was decided to have a programme of fifteen events. This will bo the first swimming carnival ever held in Feilding, and will take place on February 1.
