THE KIMBOLTON LAND SALE.

A CRITICISM. Commenting on Saturday's land salo of the, Hon. John Bryce's property (writes our Feild-. ing correspondent), Saturday's "Star" says: —"Thero is only ono'thing to regret in tho results of tho sale, and that is that it will not result in tho acquisition of as many new sottlers for the district as--we .would havo seen. It is truo that a large area that; had hitherto been locked.'up by one person has been released, but most of that area has now been acquired by several men whtf are already possessors of holdings adjoining or 'fronting tho Bryco and M'Beth .properties. What tho district needs to send it along moro rapidly is closer settlement, and wo wero hoping that tho cutting up of the property Would result, in at least a. dozen.moro settlers going .upon tho land. However, there will be a few more families acquired. .As a result of tlio sale, tho land will 111 all probability havo more work to do in tho future than it bad in tho past, and there is still a chanco of a closer settlement policy being inaugurated there.. But' tlibre was ample evidence that thero is much money in the Feilding district for investment in good lauded property.
