The Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting , afternoon, the ehair being occupied by Mr. J.M, Johnston, President. A letter was read from the Foxton Chamber asking for the co-operation of tlie Palmerston body in the matter of the formation of a Harbour Board at Foxton port, and suggesting that a conference, of the two bodies should bo held to go into the matter. Mr. it w " uld J'e better for members of the Palmorston Chamber to go down by steamer to Foxton to see what the pr'ojoct entailed. Mr. Lang thought that the request of the Foxton Chamber should bo acceded to.
