OBITUARY.

Another of our old identities passed away yesterday in the person of Alexander Eobertson. Mr. Robertson was born in 1833, and at the age of nineteen, was appointed foreman at Deanfield Dye. Works, Scotland. In 1861 lie came to Melbourne, and followed the rush to the Dunstan in 1863, and the same year started business in Nelson as a dyer. Subsequently in,tho year. 18M, lie opened business in Wellington, where he had resided since. In. Nelson ho was for some years a member of the City Council. He was a member of the Nelson Fire Brigade for fifteen years, and took a great interest in Forestry and Caledonian Societies. He was also a life member and trusteo of the Wellington Working Men's Club. ■
