It' was not in tho position, it was in a couple of months ago. t If it were, the whole coal trade of New South Wales might soon bo dislocated." The result of the meeting would indicate that th© Special Court will now continue its career unchecked. ,

A mass meeting of wharf labourers decided, in sympathy with the Newcastle wharf labourers, not to handlo the qargo of vessels belonging to tho North Coast Company, : the Newcastle Company, or the Illawarra Company. . . . ' Tho-dispute is over rates and tho question of the reinstatement of certain .men on the wharves. , LATER. ' COAL MINERS BACK AT WORK. • ' (Rec. Jan. 9, 9.18 p.m.) January 9. No unionist wharf labourers offered themselves at the Newcastle Company's or tho Illawarra Company's Wharves to-day. The work of loading and discharging is being done by tho crews of the. vessels and by free labourers. ; The North Coast Company is-practically not affected, as it has employed non-union-ists for some time. The position as regards tho strike of tho wharf labourers at Newcastla is unaltered.
