DUNEDIN.

January 8. This "afternoon the Tnhmio Park Trotting Club paid the deposit to bind the purchase of its own racecourse closc to and on the landward side of Tahuna Park, 011 which leased track the club has raced over since it was formed. The new property is large enough to allow of a fivc-furlong track being made if deemed necessary to have one of that size. The experiment of using water-gas tar to defeat the dust fiend promises to be successful. A coating of this hitherto valueless product was spread on part of Bond Street 011 Monday, and this street has been free from dust- during the two days of very hot and somewhat breezy weather. The' question is, how often tho "skim" will have to be renewed. The Jvaikorai Band reckons that it will cost them £;>OO to visit the competition at Ballarat next' October.
