Ho did not think' it would bo worth sending a team unless a strong combination was assured. One member . suggested that the Auckland Association, should be asked to give Wellington 'a percentage of the gate; but the idea did not'find favour with the committee. Mr. Brice moved an amendment that in the event of a tie for fourth place, the teams that tie'should play a qualifying match. The amendment was carried. \ WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. The Wednesday competition matches are to be resumed to-morrow,..the following fixtures having been arranged -.—Senior (Simmonds and Osborn shield): Rivals -v. Unions, Basin Reserve No. 1;. Orientals v. George and Georgo, Basin Reserve No. 2. Juniors (Winder Cup): ''George and Georgo v. Pakeha, Basin Reserve No. 3; Thorndon v. Artillery- 8., Basin Reserve No. 4; Y.M.C.A. v. Red Cross, Athletic Park No. 1; Unions v. Artillery A., Athletic Park No. 2; Vivians v. Orientals, Athletic ParkNo. 3. Messrs. R. and E. Tingey and Co. played Messrs. M'llbrido and Co. at the Lower Hutt on Saturday. Tho former won by 89 runs. M'llbride and Co. made 32, and Tingey's 121 (Patton 40, Haybittle 28). Cattanacli, 4 for 14, and Murphy, 6 for 13, bowled well for Tingey's, while Wilkie and M'llbride wero most successful for the losers. After tho match the visitors -wore entertained by tho Lower'Hutt team.
