TEMPER OF THE ARMY. A PRO-BRITISH -DEMONSTRATION. NATIVE VETERANS HONOURED. BT TELEGRAPH—FKES3 ASSOCIATION—COVTRIGHT, Bombay, December 29. Tho jubilee of Hodson's Horse was celebrated at Lahore. Colonel Cpwper led tho march-past and saluted the regiment's retired nativo voterans. This evoked a spontaneous demonstration of loyalty on the part of the native soldiers and nativo officers, who, cheered, solomnly declaring that they had not participated in the recent, unrest, and abominated all sedition-mongers. I SPLIT BETWEEN PARTIES. EACH WILL HOLD ITS OWN MEETING. (Rec. Dec. 31, 0 a.m.) Bombay, December 30. Both'sections of the Indian National Congress will hold rival Congresses in 1908. The two sections are known os the Extremists and the Moderates. A yesterday's cablegram stated that' there wos a free fight between them, tho platform was rushed, chairs and tables wore broken to splinters, weapons were used, and some of the delegates were injured. The police were called in, and the Congress closed in the wildest disorder.
