Blenheim, December 29, Edward Barry, 19 years of age, whoso relatives reside at Redwood Town, was loading sheaves on a dray on Lankow's farm yesterday forenoon, when (lie loud dipped, Barry foil, aiid ono wheon passed over his chest. He was attended hy Dr. Walker, who held out no hopes of his recovery; and Barry died this morning. An inquest will bo held to-morrow. SHOOTING ACCIDENT. Dunedin, Decembc-r 29. William Heffornan, aged 18 years, son of Mr. Heffernan. of South Dunedin, was.the victim of a snooting accident at Tuapoka Flat yesterday, while out rabbit shooting. His right arm was shattered, and had to bo amputated at the elboiv.
