BOOMERANG THROWING.
The boomorang-tlirowing crazo at Home was limited last summer to a very small circle, but tile sales of these weird missiles, which aru used with such amazing skill by tlie Aborigines of Australia, have greatly increased this year, and at many northern house parties the boomerang has come to tho rescue of thoso women who'do not accompany tho "guns." The. fascination of tho boomerang lies in the fact that each o;io differs from tlio other in its behaviour, which may always bo relied upon to bo erratic. • Tho Highland cattle instinctively realise that their chances of being struck arc infinitesimal, and continuo to feed placidly while excited ladies in short-skirts hurl tho wooden missiles at them from a safe distance. Since tho spring Messrs. Gamago have sold more than 1,200 boomerangs, made of polished ash, and priced at 2s. 3d. "Wo expect a much larger sale next summer," an odicial in the games department told an "Express" representative. . The game appears to have become very popular, especially during the past six weeks. . .. . "It is splendid exorcise, and requires a groat deal of skill and constant practico if tho boomerang is to return to its owner." Boomorang-tlirowing is certainly not a pastime for a suburban' garden, where'it would lead inevitably to summonses for. assault and battery. It is a pastime for broad acres. No one is more enthusiastic about, boomerangthrowing than Sir Ralph I'ayne-Gallwcy, who introduced it as a recreation into this country, and who has a' large collcction of boomerangs , .
