(by telegraph—press association.) Auckland, Decombor 27. Sir Joseph Ward will return' to Wellington at noon to-morrow by 11.M.5. Powerful, as a guest of tho>'Admiral, Sir W: Fawkes, and on the way down will eonfer with His Excellency on ,the matters relating to tho defenco of the Dominion, which ho specially camo to Auckland to discuss. Ladv Ward and party will probably roturn by the Tutanokai, leaving to-morrow morning. Sir Joseph will arrivo in Auckland, on a month's visit,' towards tho end of January.
