REUNION OF SOUTH AFRICANS.
That the recently-formed South African Association is a real live institution was amply evidenced last night, when the first reunion under its auspices was hold in tho Masonio Hall. Tho fnuction took the form of a smoko concert. Tho Mayor (Mr. T. W. Jlislop) presided, and over a hundred South Africans woro present. The following toasts were enthusiastically honoured :—" The King," "South Africa and the Association," proposed by the Chainqau, and responded to by Mr. Maris; " The Land wo live in," proposed by tho president (Air. G. Campbell), and responded to by Mr. B. Arnold; "Visitors and the Press," proposed by Mr. ITawkes, and responded >o oy several visitors and the Press representatives present. During the evening oijjoyablp items wore contributed by tho following :—Messrs. Burns, Bollard. Mooro, Parsons, Stewart, Smith, Passmoro. Brown, and Harrop (songs): Mr. Seaton (parlour conjuring); Mr. Lewis (pianoforto solo); and Mr. W. Campbell (musical sketch). Mr. H. J. Barrett acted ns accompanist.
