PETONE NEWS.

The Petone Band, conducted by Bandmaster M'Artkur, gave the second of : their opoii-nir concerts on the Recreation Ground last night. Somo 50 couples took advantage, and dancing was indulged in. All seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The Band intends holding a number of open-air concerts after New Yrar. A wedding of considerable interest in Petone took place at St. Augustine's Church yesterday, the Rev. I. D. Russell officiating. The contracting parties were Miss l< , . Adamson and Mr. W. Q. Alexander. The bridesmaids were Misses Adamson and Alexander, sisters of tho bride and bridegroom respectively, the groomsmen being Messrs. G. and A. Alexander. After ceremony, the guests adjourned to St. Augustine's Hall, where the reception was hold, some GO or 70 being present. Tho happy couple left by tho afternoon train, intending to spend their honeymoon nt Napier.
