HOTEL DONATIONS.

$ MORE FUNDS FOE THE HOSPITAL. Tlio boxes which have been standing in hotel bars for a month past, mutely, soliciting douiitinos for the augmentation of the Hospital Satin day and Sunday' Fund, have now been collected, and their hundreds of pennies and halfpence counted by Mr. F. J. Oakes, Secretary of the Bandsmen's Committee, .which has reason to be satisfied with the result. From this source there will be added .£GS 16s. to the fund, and boxes from three hotels have still to come in. The total shows a marked im-i lH'ovement on the total sum of ,£55 collected last year in hotels, though that amount, was then a record, and double the. best previous total. The collections at the Albion Hotel (.£ll 6s. fid.) and Clyde Quay Hotel (.£8 3s. Id.) are both larger thou the best collection from any single house last year. Including the. collections made on Hospital: Saturday and Sunday, about' £520 has ,;been added to the Hospital funds by the recent effort, and there are six or eight, boxes still to come in from hotels and factories. A Government subsidy of 21s. on the £ is due onthe amount collected.
