PARLIAMENT'S TEMPORARY HOME £1000 FOE THE NIMROD EXPEDITION Cabinet lias decided that the next scission of Parliament will bo held in temporary premises to he provided in connection with what is left of the old Parliamentary Buildings, in making this statement to a Dominion reporter, the Premier said that tho details of the scheme had not been fully worked out, but tho thing could be done by tho time Parliament met.. Sir Joseph told tho reporter that he did not think tho next session would bo made any shorter on account of want of suitable accommodation. As tho last session of tho present Parliament, it would naturally bo shorter than tho one which lately closed. Cabinet also decided to vote £1000 towards tho expenses of the Nimrod expedition to tho South Polar regions, thus following tho lead of the Commonwealth, which is contributing £5000. Cabinet further decided to assist the work now being done by private organisations in connection with tho care of infant lifo. It is understood that tho formulation of a schoino to lay before Parliament for the rebuilding of Parliamont Houso for permanent uso was deferred until a future meeting of tho Cabinet. In further comment on tho Premier's proposals in regard to now buildings for parliamentary and otjier Stafco purposes, the Hon. T. K. Macdonald remarked yesterday that, if tho Dominion was hard up, it would bo rath or a good idea to soli or lease the Government Buildings sito on Lambton Quay. His own opinion, however, was tliat' tho Government would want every foot of land it had without doing anything of that sort. To thoso who were anxious to bo especially economical, the suggestion for getting an income from that valuable) piece', of city land would, no doubt, commend itself;
