These matches have excited great interest throughout the season, and Nowtown sont down a very strong rink to tussle with tho Wellington "invincibles" <m Saturday ,and a ; splendid game resulted, tho interest boing maintained up to tho last bowl. On tho ; ninth head the teams wore equal with 8 .points, but from then Wellington drew away until tho sixtoenth head, whon Wellington was 19 to Nowtown's 10. Newtown scored 'on the next four heads, making tho score : 19—16 on the twontieth head; but Newtown failed to pull up the.roquired points on 'an awkward lay, and Wellington managod 'to score another four, creating a good winining margin in a particularly well-fought gamo. The Wellington team havo established a record as holders of the Edwin Feathers, having defcatod fiftoen challenging teams from all tho local clubs in succession. Tho proviouß '-'Feathers" rocord was hold by a Wellington Club toam skipped by Noil M'Lean, who won thirteon successive matchos boforo being "plucked." Auckland, December 15. In connection with the Citizens' match, to be played at the North Island Bowling Association's tournament in Auckland next month, it has been decided that it will be open to members of clubs affiliated to tho Northern Association or clubs acknowledged by the North Island Bowling Association. Each rink will require to be composed of members of one. club only. Each club can, however, enter as many rinks as it chooses. All arrangements for "tho tournament are now well forward, and a very successful gathering in every way'is anticipated, ■•
