4. race was sailed by tho Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club yesterday evening for atrophy presented by Mr. H. Eowell. There was a fight northerly wind, which freshened slightly in the second round. Although eleven boat* were entered only six faced the starter Tht following boats competedT. Bailey 6 rhelma, scr.; J. S. Swan's Blowfly, lmin.; B. Stirling s Vora, 2lmin.;- A. Aldreas Irex, 2|min.; J. and F. 'Scott's Eona, 4min.; and W. Moore s Aiax, sJmin. Soon after the 6tart ff drizzly rain came on, making sailing anything but pleasant. 011 tho beat to windward tlie Vera displaced the Eona as second boat, and the first round finished with the Ajax m the lead, and tho Vera and Eona not far behind. The othei boats were in a cluster some two minutes behind. Tho Ajax maintained her lrad and, although closely pressed by .the Veiriand Thelma, finished first at 7hr. 25min. The Vera was second at 7hr. anc ' j j third at 7hr. 2Cmin. The- rest finished as follows Blowfly, 7hr. 28mm. 3see. Eona, 7hr. 28miu. 45 sec.; Irex, 7hr. 33mm. 4jscc. Four of the boat owners went round the course sln handed, and lost a lot of ground on account 31 the wind being too fresh for one man. Mr. J Eedmond acted as starter, udge.and timeVomer and Mr. 0. Scott framed the handjcaps. Another raco will be sailed next Viednesday evening. v*
