THE SQUADRON.

H.M.S. POWERFUL "AT AUCKLAND. Advice was received from Auckland last night of the arrival of H.ll. flagship Powerful, with Admiral Fawkes on board, from Sydney. A number of other vessels of the Squadron are due to arrive, but up to n late hour had not been reported. Captain G. G. Smith, Koyal Naval Registrar, advises that on the squadron leaving Auckland on Decomber 27, short stoppages will bo made at Gisborno and Napier, weather permitting. Thwo scorns to ho a doubt as to whether Wellington will bo the next port of call. It is prelmblo that tho squadron, with tho exception of tho flagship, will como to Wellington. The flagship, it is understood, will proceed to Lyttelton to give the Nimrod, which proceeds to Southern seas, a sendoff. Pending the decision of tho Admiralty, it is not yet decided which port—Wellington or Lyttelton—will recoivo tho squadron first.
