(bt telegraph—special, correspondent.) \ t Hastings, December 9.; An indication of the price which will bo ruling for grass seed this season is given by a sale which took place in Hastings on Saturday of an eight-acre crop. This was purchased by a settler from up country at the big sum of 6s. 9d; per bushel at the mill, which represents: just on 7s. per bushel delivered. The crop is old pasture and will yield at the least 36 bushels to the acre, so that tho return from the paddock will be close on £100, including cost of harvest. Grass, seed will be 'in great demand this season, mostly by Government settlers.
