Elliott,. of the teaching staff of the Palmerston North High, and Technical School, has booked to leave Sydney for London by the Omrali on December '28. Mr. arid Mrs. H. S. Woolcott, of Hankey Street; hayo booked passages for Home by the Bremen, leaving Sydney on March 21 nest. Mr. Woolcott was for many years foreman of the Wellington Fire Brigade. Mr. Garnet B. Holmes, of the firm of Messrs. Holmes and Allen, inventors of tho well-known trolley-head, is on a flying visit to London to confer with Messrs. Barnard Brown and J. Burgess, their British and European concessionaires. .The Hon. Dr. Findlay leaves for Wanganui to-morrow, where lie" will attend tho annual prize-giving of the-Girls' College on Thursday. On Friday he will distribute prizes at the Palmerston North High School, probably roturning to Wellington on the following day. Mr. 1 ,, . G. Dorrington, manager of tho Bank of Now Zealand at Port Chalmers, has been appointed to succeed Mr. J. F. White as manager of the bank's branch at Hokitika. Mr. White has resigned to go into business for himself. Mr. Y. W. J. Donald, assistant-accountant at Christchurch, has been promoted to 'the management of the Port Chalmers branch,"and Mr. A. M'Lollan, of the Christchurch staff, becomes assis-tant-accountant there.
