DAYLIGHT PARADE.
Tho Wellington Garrison. Artillery Volunteers, under Lieut. Sloinan, hold a daylight parade at Mahanga Bay on Saturday afternoon, when thero was an excellent muster, 81 of all ranks being present. Lieuts. Donniston and Sominerville were also present. The company's commanding officer (Captain llonzies) iis at present absent on leave. Port-manning and big-gun drill wero carried out by detachments. The 8-inch and the two 6-inch B.L. guns were worked under the supervision of N.C.O.'s of the R.N.Z.A. Tho 12-pounder guncrow was under P.O. Steele, and tho Nonlenfeldt squad was under Gunner Edmonds. V.O. Williamson was in charge of the signallers, and C.P.O. Martin supervised generally, j'ho G and 3-inch guns havo recently been fitted up with aiming rifles, thus enabling " inch ammunition" to be used at; targets in Hie liaibour, and afForing tho gun-layors better oppoitunities for expert practice. The annual fifteen-days' iustnictural encampment at tho Ports will be held from February G to February 21, 1908.
