The Lfeyin Horticultural ShoW was opened ' on' Wednesday, and the weatherxbeing fine Ifirgovminibers of people camo, in-from the surrounding districts to see the exhibits. Mr. Field, M.H.R., who opened the show,.. , spoke in'eulogistic terms of the good work' •done by the committee, who had worked 60 hard to bring tho'show up to its present high lev,el. There was one tmng he regretted, aftd. that _ was the lack of accommodation for • ■ ; the exhibits and tlio.pu.blic, for a decent-sized ; hall. could,.not bo procured in - -tho' town. Leyiiiiwasvgoing 'iihead at a good rate, the want of a larger hall was felt. j; However, he; hoped that .by the time tlie next show was'-held the progressive people'-of Levia * would have Something .larger built. . 'i'ho show; itself' was certainly a particularly good ouc, not only as an exhibition of flowers and vegetables, but also of art and home industries. One very noteworthy exhibit was tho fine : and varied work done by, the boys-from tho Weraroa Training Farm.'
