James Wilson, a young man, who pleaded .guilty in the Magistrate s Court, Lytteltou, 'to a charge l of breaking'and entering, appeared in the Supreme Court to-day for sentence. Prisoner complained that he had been employment of the Harbour Board, but. his employers, learning that he had been in gaol, he had to leave. He, was also a deserter from the worship Pioneer. Auckland, November 29. •For some .time past arrangements have been in progress for starting a fishing stationl at the Kcrmadcc Islands in conjunction with which will be the preserving of mutton birds and the manufacture of fish glue, oils, and fertilisers. With this 'objcct ill view, a local company is being formed, called " Tho Kormadec Fish, Oil, and Trading Company," the capital having 'been fixed at £15,000 in' £1 shares. ■ Several prominent local merchants and shipping men have already identified themselves with the 'scheme, and the services have been secured of Mr. M'Kcown, who was for years engaged in the Newfoundland fishing industry and has a particular process for curing fish, which will be acquired by the company.
