SHOW SUGGESTIONS.
Tho. Masterton A. and P. Association keeps in its offices a book in which are inscribed suggestions by mombers. These suggestions deal mainly with possible improvements in connection with "forthcoming shows. The system is a good ono, but sometimes tho suggestion is decidedly novel. The Association, liko other associations, has a perennial trouble with its gato passes. Last year it resorted to tho idea of branding visitors oii the hand. This idea was not very favourably received, but it is ovident from a " suggestion," that the Association suffers a financial loss yearly from " gato leakage." " Having attended othor shows and closely observed tho various practices for ' beating the gates,'" writes one member, " I am confident that tho Society must resort to stringent measures in tho mattor of regulating the issue of tickets. I have seen, at tho Masterton Show, several instances of ladies' tickets being torn in halves, and pushed into Alio wrist of the bearers' glove, one, lady's ticket thus admitting two ladies, provided they each wore gloves. The writer did not suggest how tho Association was to deal with these feminine smugglers, if thoy were caught red-handed. The committee, however, has decided to keep a strict watch ■on the gates at the next show, so that "woman, lovely woman," will have to beware. Another suggestion was that the officials should use a megaphone in tho ring foi tho benefit of announcing classes required to be judged. Tho Association intends to inquire as to the cost of an instrument.
