POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

{■ THE-MOVABLE HEADQUARTERS. The headquarters of the' North Island Poultry Association are now at Hawera. Mr. C. Goodsoh is president, Mr. Cowell treasurer, and Mr! Conroy secretary. The rules of the Association provide that the headquarters shall be " " every, year. There are many.who consider'it undesirable that the "moving , . , shall lie compulsory, as this almost inevitably necessitates an annual change of officers. It is held to be inconvenient that the secretary, at all events, should be changed yearly, and'it is therefore, proposed to alter the rule to make tho headquarters .only "movable." This will then be pormissive but not mandatory. Hawera is regarded by many as an ideal place for the; centre,- and' it is obvious alno that Mr.-.Coriroy is regarded by some as an ideal permanent secretary.
