THE WAIRARAPA SHOW.
SOMETHING ABOUT THE ENTRIES. Although entries for tho annual show, of tho Wairarapa A. and P. Association closed on Saturday, they aro still rolling in to tho secretary, Mr. 'H. S. Moss, and it is irnprobublo that tho list will be complete bol'oro tho end of the week. All tho stock classes are being well filled, although jn somo instances tho competition might have boon keener. There aro no Mount Herbert estato or To Aute shorthorns this year. l This is regrettable, owing to tho fact that tho competition with tho. Hawko's Bay breeders and tlioso from Wairarapa would have been particularly keen. Somo of the exhibits in the class this year aro recent importations from Victoria by Messrs. W. C. Buchanan, and tho trustees in' tho estato of the lato D. M'Master. Excellent entries are being received in /other cattlo classes, particularly in milkers and dairy cattlo. Tho sheep classes will'bo fairly strong. Amongst tho exhibitors aro: Messrs. A. V. Collins (Hawko's Bay), W. B. Allen and \Y. Porry (Taratahi), A. H. Hollo (Otaki), AY. Raynor, J. Strang, Gray Bros., C. H. Gayfer, AV. H. and AV. Howard Booth, AV. C. Buchanan, and AY. H. Buick, in addition to numerous other competitors. Horses will probably bo the biggest section. There is plonty of competition and numerous entries. Amongst tho hacks will be shown Juggler, champion at Hawko's Bay, Yeast, Auctioneer, Rangatira, ami Mignon. Tho buck-jumping will not bo the least interesting feature of the day's proceedings. In tho industrial department there is a lessening of competition in tho elieeso sections, and this will probably bo the record until decent prize-money is awarded. An outside competitor in tho butter classes is tho Cheltenham Butter Factory. Tho indiicenionts offered by tho Association in school funning have not been largely taken advantage of. So far, the only entries aro, from Dalelield, Groytown, AVaingawa, and Gladstono. Lists in connection with tho poultry and dogs aro understood to bo very well filled. Summed up, there is every chauco that, Mvith fino weather, the Wairarapa 1\ and A. Association's show of 1007 will bo a bright success.
