A GOOD WORD FOR ROSIN ADAIR.

An Aorangi farmer who goes in extensively for potato growing' has discussed with our Manawatu representative- tho question of which variety of potato is the earliest and best in that locality for cropping purposes and general utility. He favoured the ■ Robin Adair, and said ho had grown this variety early and successfully for tho past fivo years, and at horticultural shows it had beaten other competitors. Ho is already placing now potatoes upon tho market. When taking into consideration tho very unfavourable season this achievement constitutes a record for the district this season. Greater still was the achievement of last year, when the same farmer] grew three crops from the same land. This was dono by way of an experiment." After having taken one lot of Robin Adair tubers from the ground, tho second crop Was planted, and in turn tho third. The farmer says that with both South and North Island experience ho has found the variety everything which he represented it to be, and as the "seed" potatoes are comparatively cheap ho is surprised to learn that it does not find moro favour amongst growers. In conclusion, ho adds that if the potato flourishes so well in Aorangi, equally good results can bo obtained in other parts of tho Dominion. As to its blight-resisting qualities, it requires equal care to guard against the disease as any other variety.
