SHOCKING ACCIDENT. GIRL'S HAIR CAUGHT IN MACHINERY. (AT TELEGRAPH.—rr.E3S ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Novomber 11. A young girl named Margaret Wright l (aged 15) met with a shocking accident today. She ivas employed as a machine-hand at tho Defiance Clothing Factory in Newton Road, and while working thoro got hor haiicaught in a shaft, half tho scalp being torn off. She was at once removed to tho Hospital, whore she now lies in a very serious condition. ,SAILOR KILLED. Auckland, Novomber 11. j Roiib Boulto, ono of the crow of the scow Huia, was killed by the mast breaking through becoming entangled in willows. J'he brokon part foil on Boulto, fractured his skull, and broko his neck. JOCKEY'S DEATH. Auckland, November 11. The iockcy Thomas Taylor, who was injured when Pohutu fell in the Great Northorn Guineas, died in the hospital on Sunday night. He was forty-ono years of age, and leaves a widow and several children. MAN FOUND HANGING. i Invercargill, Nov. 11. John Wallace, sixty years-of ago, .was found hanging to a beam m a stable by his wifo at 8 o'clock this morning. The wife cut the body down and sent for a doctor, who found that Wallaco was dead. It was statedat tho inquest being hold to-nig(it that dooeasod had suffered for somo timo trom niolancholia. . BURNED TO DEATH. ' Wanganui, November 11. A man. named Georgo Glasgow, cook at a flaxmill noar Waverley, was burned to death in a horsebox at tho railway l station, Waverley, on Saturday night. His horso was seen tied to tho horsebox, and it is supposed that deceased took shelter trom tho rain, and dropped a lighted match, with tho result that tho dccoasea and tho woodwork of two horsetrucks wore burned to ashes.
