In, for > nially declaring the carnival open last uignt, Mr. F. M. B. Fisher,. M.H.8., who had a very cordial reception, said that purchasers of the ornamental and useful articles on sale would ■ ■ a not only receive good value, but would als-j iave the satisfaction of knowing that they wcio lDlping an institution which aimed, at assist- ■ ing the weak and the needy. Ho hoped that the carnival would be a great success. The various stalls are presided over as follow :— Drapery stall. Adjutant Tweed, and-.Captain Hill; fancy goods stall, Misses Stark and Luxton; fruit stall, Mr. Crowle; refreshment stall • No. 1, Mrs. M'Clure and Miss Larsen; No. 2, .. Company enlivened the proceedings.
