COMPLAINT BY PASSENGERS. A series of complaints, signed by a number of second-class passengers by the Wimniera on the last trip from Sydney, have been handed to us for publication, after several of the complainants had interviewed tho Secretary for Marine, who is forwarding a copy of the allegations made to the Minister for Marine. 1 Tho complaints are as follow;— 3 "Hnddnrt, Parker's s.s. First. —Number of passengers in excess of 3 the ship's capacity (second saloon), being j licensed by. the Board of Trade to carry 9li, r carrying at present 121, 25 in excess. ," Second.—Lack of proper sanitary arrange- ■' ments; there being no nnnal available for the 6 men, and-only three w.c.'s, and one of these 5 is put of order, and others badly flushed. . i " Third. —Itf is impossible to obtain an early 1 bath owing to the fact that this room is used ) as a sleeping compartment by two of the staff, r and also a box-rboni for passengers' luggage. t i " Fourth.—Owing to the cabins ■ being all taken, thirty passengers are compelled to sleep ' in the saloon, on the tables, and deck, this saloon being tho only sitting accommodation 1 for ladies.
