ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE. " A Warning to Women'' was played by the Mcynell and tiunn Company for the last timo in- Wellington yesterday evening. ' To-night Miss Eildyard will essay a new character in that of Wanda Labinoff, in " A • Beautiful Fiend," a play in which tho action is said to bo lively, and, indeed, thrilling, from the riso to the fall of. the curtain. The drama includes somo moving incidents illustrative of the treatment meted out to political prisoners on their way to Siberia, but in happy relief there is somo excellent comedy leavening tho load of Russian woe. Tho scenery is said to bo painted from actual photographs of the places depicted, and the uniforms and dresses aro designed with strict 'adherence to tho correct modes of Eussia. The drama will bo produced under the direction of Mr. H. W. Varna. THEATRE ROYAL. At tho Theatre Royal last evening Stewart and Lorraine, a musical duo, made their first appearanco in' Wellington, and created a very favourable impression with, their selections on bells, aluminium harp, and orgaii cliimes, sleigh bolls, etc. Other good turns wero supplied by Ivoldie and Davis, Walker and Huglies, Gertie Everett, Pearl . Livingstone, Dalbcaine the Groat, and quito a number of other clever artists. This, week's programme is particularly bright and attractive, and business is satisfactory.
