SWIMMING.

A swimming club was organised nt'the Boys' Institute last evening, and ■ the following officers were elected:—Hon. instructor, Mr. T. Shields;.'official liamlicappcr, Mr. Sommervillo; captain, Mr. Jnmcs Coulson; vice-captain, Mr. Donald Bell; lion, treasurer, Mr. C. Dick; hon. secretary, .Mr. W. S. Bruce. A class in life saving will be conducted by Mr. Sommervillj during the season for advanced swimmers, and classes for beginners will lie taught by Mr. Shields. The club now consists of 31 members, all swimmers, while a score or more boys havo signed for swimming lessons.
