• FOOTBAU. -■ ■' NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. . A meeting of the Management Committees of the.New Zealand Rugby Union was hold last evening. There wore present :—Messrs. R. Isaacs (in the chair), I. Hyams, E. Wylic, A. Laurenson, F. K. WallbUrtan; J. H..Laughton, N. Galbraith, and J. D. Avery, secretary. The Auckland Union advised that the profit on the Bullcr-Auckland Ranfurly Shield match was approximately .£7O, and the profit on tho Hawko's Bay-Auck-land Shield contest about ,£9O. An appeal was received through the Biiller Union from the Wcstport Club protesting against the win of the Star' team in a recent match on the ground that, the club had played a man who was no.t a bona fide resident in the district. Tho appeal was not upheld. Tho Secretary of the New Zealand Sports' Federation wrote forwarding a copy of the conference minutes and suggested rules, and asked for the appointment of representatives to attend a meeting of the Federation at Christchurch on November 0. Mr. G. Dixon, chairman of the Union, and Mr. W. G< Garrard, of .'Christchurch, wero. appointed to represent the Union. WELLINGTON UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last ovening. Present:—Messrs. S. S. Brown (in the chair), J. Smith, G. V. Bogle, F. Alpe, P. .Anderson, J. F. O'Sullivan, E. 0. Hales, J. Murray, and W. G. Talbot (secretary). It was decided to make tho usual annual grant of £5 to "the Public Schools Union. It was also decided to present caps to the school team which won /the championship.
