(From On- Own Correspondent.) Dunetlin, October 9. Tho Rov. W. Hewitson, of Knox Church, is going to visit his relatives in Victoria. Mr. John Sidoy has sold seventy acros of tho hillside abovo Cnrcrsham, and it is to he cut up to form a new township. Duncdin is sure to extend in that direction. Dr. Colquhoim has boon appointed to a fellowship in tho Royal College of Physicians. . The Farmers', Union is asking tho Government to allow hares to be carried at tho same rate as rabbits on the railway. Another ' Mounted Rifle Corps in Dunedin is being talked of. As showing the good feeling, between the Union Company and its omployecs, it may bo mentioned that the painters employed by the Company at Port Chalmers petitioned the Arbitration Court to exempt them from the award, so long as the conditions thoy were working under continue.
